The Links at Novadell is located in Hopkinsville, KY and resides just minutes from the Pennyrile Parkway and I-24. The course was opened in the spring of 2001 and is situated on 830 acres of beautiful Kentucky farmland. The land for the course and housing development was originally purchased from the Anderson family in 1997. After examining its history, it was discovered that the farm was once the home of Acme Mills, which produced Veribest Flour, shipped to all parts of the United States. Veribest was called “The Whitest Flour in the World” long before the slogan was made famous by the call letters of the Acme Mills' radio station –WFIW, one of Kentucky's first stations. While working for the mills, a German immigrant, Hal C. Fifer, developed and patented the whitening process for Acme's flour. That process was patented under the name “Novadell.”
Thus the name Novadell was given to the development project, and later, the golf course was named The Links at Novadell. The course, as associated with its name, is “Links” golf at its finest. With fairways that are wide and inviting, and large greens, the golf course is very player friendly. The breeze that blows across the flat farmland and the fescue grass makes for an interesting test and gives you a feeling of playing traditional links golf.
While we are sure the whole course will be memorable for you, here at Novadell a few holes take the cake. Hole #3 is challenging par 5 that stretches 611 from the back tees and is a true three shot hole. Hole #6, a par 4, has creek that runs down the left side of the hole and empties into a lake located just in front of the green. This is one of the few forced carries at Novadell. Hole #8, a drivable par 4, is a great chance to get strokes back. Guarded by sand traps and a small hazard right of the green, the hole rewards a straight, long drive. Hole #10 is probably the most difficult hole on the course with a lake running up the left side of the hole and out of bounds up the far right side of the hole. Walking off 10 with a par is something to be proud of. Hole #17 is the signature hole at The Links at Novadell. It measures 155 from the back tee to a peninsula green. The margin for error from the tee is slim but a large inviting green makes a birdie try a real possibility.
The golf course is suited for golfers of all abilities. The course offers 4 sets of tees including a ladies set, a senior set, an intermediate set, and an advanced set. With few forced carries and wide fairways we are sure that you can shoot your best round at Novadell.
The clubhouse here at Novadell contains a top of the line golfshop that stocks all major golf brands, including Callaway, Cleveland, Ping, Taylormade, Titleist, and Cobra. The clubhouse also includes a full service bar and grill that is open for breakfast and lunch and many meeting rooms and conference rooms. |
